"Would you call me a cab?"
She stared at him without so much as a muscle twitch on her long pale face. Then suddenly she came alive, as if someone flipped a switch. He watched as she scrambled, not for the phone. Her thin knobby fingers clawed frantically at empty air. Then someone flipped the switch again and she stops mid air. Her dead eyes found their way back to his face.
Several centuries (seconds) later, he finally spoke up. "Never mind, I can get one for myself."
